On Saturday night I experienced the glory which is Peking Duck House. While my waistline hates McNally for introducing me to this little piece of Chinatown heaven my tastebuds are beyond grateful… Honestly, THE BEST PEKING DUCK I’ve ever had in my life.. You must go and try it.. and perhaps if you are lucky, Senator Chuck Schumer will come by your table and say “hi” like he did ours.
Roll out puff pastry dough, bake 15 minutes at 400. Sprinkle with Gruyere (or cheese of your choice) and top with Asparagus. Brush with oil, top with salt and pepper. Bake another 20-25 minutes. -
KAGE sent out a mass email this morning proclaiming this the “Best Crockpot Chicken”… I’m shocked by the cream cheese and cream of chicken however KAGE is the kinda girl who appreciates good food (ie: Per Se) so I trust her.
Crock pot Chicken:
2-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (could use frozen as well)
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese (let sit out to soften)-you could use low fat CC for a healthier option
1 can cream of chicken soup (could use cream of mushroom)
1 pkg. italian dressing seasoning (the dried kind in the packet)
1 package of uncle bens MICROWAVE-(IMPORTANT !!) white or wild rice
1 cup of water or chicken stock
1/4 cup of dry white wine (optional)
stir the cream cheese, cream of chicken, seasoning, water , wine and seasoning together in the crockpot. i actually start it on low and let it all sit in there for about 30 min so the cream cheese is softer to stir. Add chicken and package of rice. stir together and cover chicken in sauce. cook on low for 4-5 hours (if frozen chicken cook on high) or until the chicken is cooked and fall-apart-tender. serve with green salad and yummy bread! Voila!!
I’m sorry but any recipe involving bacon and gruyere cheese is a winner in my book.

1. I went to Hobart with Eric Korsch.. He could not be nicer.
2. His restaurant, Calliope is beyond delicious. Their raclette fingerling potatoes are crave worthy.

On Friday night we had a “girls night” dinner at Jack’s Luxury Oyster Bar in the East Village. IT WAS BEYOND GOOD. We had the six-course tasting menu ($55) which included: 1.Roasted Oysters potato threads, serrano ham, smoked paprika
2.Fresh tomatoes with feta and pumpernickel “soil”.
3.Arctic Char crisp skin with fresh peas
5.Pork Belly with corn succotash
6.(not pictured) coffee ice-cream with some amazing crunchy stuff..
