Usually Metts and I do the same thing when I arrive. He picks me up at the airport, we stop off at his office and then go to Sushi Sam’s. This time we deviated from the plan. Originally I had wanted to go to Sam’s in Tiburon via JuJuBe’s new boat.. Sadly, that thing was in the shop and Beej didn’t have enough time for lunch in Marin before she relived the sitter. So busted but so good as we had a light lunch at Angelina’s in preparation for our big meal at Wayfare Tavern…
I’ve wanted to go to the Wayfare Tavern for quite sometime and am so grateful that Beej set up this dinner a month in advance. Was the food worth the $100/pp tab? I’m not sure. I feel as though Taavo Somer’s fried organic chicken at Peels is just as good and cheaper than Tyler Florence’s… The Grits, however, totes deserved their pricetag…. Overall, everything at Wayfare Tavern was yummy but nothing was truly crave-worthy.. I think I may have mis-ordered. I totes want to go again but, this time order the Poutine, Burrata and Roasted Bone Marrow. I’ll have to save that for my Fall trip.

LUNCH: Beej and I shared a beet salad, chicken curry salad and quinoa and spinach salad at Angelina’s.

DINNER: Beej, Metts, Goldie, JuJuBe and myself split all of the below….
The Wayfare Tavern Popover.. Goldie proclaimed this light and fluffy treat looked like an elephant penis. I'm not sure about that one. I do know it was so tasty and I was dead proud of Metts for avoiding it... until, he had a few glasses of wine and I spied him nibbling.

Goldie and I are the only ones who liked the Deviled Eggs… JuJuBe icksnayed it without even trying.. Metts and Beej both gagged after they took a bite.. Goldie whispered something quite mean after learning that we were the only two who fancied these delightful eggs.
DEVILED JIDORI EGGS - mustard and crème fraîche whipped yolks, radish, celery & bottarga....this picture is blurry cause I was so excited to eat.
Is Organic Fried Chicken tastier than regular friend chicken? I don’t know… I guess this plate was better than a plate of KFC.

I love me some grits and this plate was another reason why I die for the gluten free treat.

Okay, so the Mac&Cheese was not so much gluten free but it was too yum to avoid eating.
Wayfare Tavern - Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Jack cheese, garlic bread crumbs, chive & smoked olive oil
DESSERT: I think we ordered the sticky toffee pudding. I can’t be certain cause I forgot to take a picture. Goldie thinks we went with the sticky toffee pudding and the cheesecake.. I really think we only ordered one dessert though.
